Resuming Teaching, in Germany
(25.10.2024) Teachers with refugee status are seeking to resume their work, at German schools. A qualification program called LehrkräftePLUS offers them the chance to do just that. A class of 20 just finished the program at the University of Siegen, certifying their successful completion of the continuing education course.

How Do Fear and Anxiety Arise in the Brain?
(01.08.2024) Dr. Matthias Sperl, a psychotherapist for cognitive behavioral therapy at the University of Siegen, is searching for new ways to understand and treat fear and anxiety. His efforts have earned him the Early Career Award from the German Society for Psychophysiology and its Application (DGPA).

Supporting Women in Academic Careers
(01.08.2024) Twelve young researchers have successfully completed FraMeS, a mentoring program intended specially for women. The University of Siegen first started offering this tailored career training service in 2010, and interest remains strong as ever: a new round has opened with seventeen participants.

Unique Research Building Takes Shape
(25.07.2024) Interior construction of the INCYTE research building is in full swing. The building on the Adolf Reichwein campus of the University of Siegen is scheduled for completion in March 2025 – and will give a massive boost to research.

Protecting Birds and Bats from Wind Turbines
(01.07.2024) Scientists are seeking to expand wind energy production while also better protecting birds and bats. To achieve this goal, researchers at the University of Siegen are working with partners on a novel detection system for wind turbines.
