Extension for Transregional Collaborative Research Center
(05.12.2022) The transregional collaborative research center focused on "Particle Physics Phenomenology after the Higgs Discovery” was first launched in 2019. The German Research Foundation (DFG) has now officially announced a four-year extension.
Südwestfalen Receives Digital Innovation Center for Europe
(28.11.2022) A “European Digital Innovation Hub” (EDIH) is rising in Südwestfalen, under the leadership of the University of Siegen. The hub is tasked with supporting companies from the region and throughout Europe as they engage in digital transformation. Over 4 mn. in funding in planned through the end of 2025.
Important News about Bus and Rail Service
(10.11.2022) Commuters should prepare for significant upcoming disruptions to the rail connection between Cologne and Siegen. In addition, VWS (Verkehrsbetriebe Westfalen-Süd), Siegen's regional public transit service, has announced the cancellation of various bus routes for Siegen-Wittgenstein, and has now posted a modified schedule.
