Urban-rural differences in politics
In collaboration with Richard Traunmüller (U Mannheim/GU Frankfurt) and Sigrid Roßteutscher (GU Frankfurt), I am dedicating urban-rural differences in German and European politics. European politics. We are particularly interested in political behaviour and attitudes towards democracy.
Citizens and democracy in times of social change
A further research focus is on the way in which the way citizens participate in politics and society and how they society and how they evaluate the political system and how they evaluate the political system and their own role in it. This political participation, aspects of social cohesion, attitudes towards social cohesion, attitudes towards democracy and citizenship norms. I analyse, among how contextual factors (e.g. institutions, (e.g. institutions, social structure, climate of opinion) and societal changes (e.g. digitalisation, demographic change, polarisation) impact on civic engagement and attitudes to attitudes towards democracy.
Psychology and politics
Building on my doctoral project (see publications), I am investigating how personality and political attitudes and behaviour of citizens and citizens and elites are interrelated. I am the interplay of personality traits and contextual personality traits and contextual factors and stimuli.
Survey research
From a methodological point of view, I am particularly interested in survey research. This includes analyses of the validity of frequently used measurement instruments and the new instruments to measure concepts in empirical democracy research. democracy research.
