Professor Mustafa Kizilcay Appointed IEEE “Fellow”
A distinct honor: Dr. Mustafa Kizilcay, professor of electrical engineering at the University of Siegen, has received the prestigious title of “IEEE Fellow” from the world's largest technical professional association.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, headquartered in New York but active around the world, has named Professor Mustafa Kizilcay as a Fellow. This is the association's highest level of membership, conveyed annually to individual IEEE members by a selection committee. The selection as an IEEE Fellow acknowledges extraordinary achievement in the field of technology research and development for humanity.
Professor Mustafa Kizilcay, who until assuming emeritus status worked for the Chair for Electrical Power Supply at the University of Siegen, was feted for his work in the field of modeling and simulation of power system electromagnetic transients.
Professor Kizilcay (born in 1955) first came to the University of Siegen in 2004. The native of Turkey had previously held positions in Hannover, Frankfurt, and Osnabrück. While here, he led the Institute for Electrical Power Supply, which focused on topics in the area of production, transmission, and distribution of electrical energy. In 1994, he was awarded the “Literature Prize of the Electrical Engineering Society” by the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & IT Technology) for the publication of his work “Low-Order Network Equivalents for Electromagnetic Transients Studies.”
In addition to his academic pursuits, Professor Kizilcay is also a dedicated art photographer, having showcased his work at various exhibitions.
