New DFG Liaison Officer for the German Research Foundation
The Rector's Office has elected Professor Christian Lahusen as the new liaison officer for the German Research Foundation (DFG). Lahusen succeeds Professor Andreas Kolb.
A few biographical notes: Christian Lahusen is a professor of sociology and the Vice Dean for International Affairs at the University of Siegen. He studied sociology in Düsseldorf and Madrid, earned his PhD at the European University Institute in Florence, and completed his habilitation at the University of Bamberg. His research focuses on political sociology, the sociology of Europe, and sociological theory. He has led numerous national research projects and has been a partner and/or coordinator for multiple international research alliances. His projects have been primarily financed by the DFG and the European Union.
About the position: All universities that are members of the German Research Foundation select a DFG Liaison Officer from the ranks of their teaching faculty. That person then serves as a local contact person for parties applying for DFG funding. All applicants must also inform the DFG Liaison Officer when submitting DFG projects.
