University of Siegen Releases New Promotional Video

The new promotional video for the University of Siegen highlights the diverse and interdisciplinary research carried out in Siegen.

 From cultural and media sciences to sensor and nano engineering science, elementary particle physics, quantum optics, and current research in the field of education and society: The University of Siegen is a strong research university. This is evidenced by steadily increasing external funding — a record 52.5 million euros during the last accounting period — and flagship projects like the two collaborative research centers, a transregio CRC, two research training groups, high caliber research groups and priority programs, and excellent individual projects. They comprise a broad research landscape that serves as an ideal subject for the university's new promotional video. With a runtime of four minutes, it provides a lively and attractive review of the many areas in which Siegen researchers are active.

“We want to show what sets research at Siegen apart—outstanding interdisciplinary collaboration, excellent conditions, and a supportive research culture. The new promotional video presents our strengths in research and teaching and simultaneously showcases Siegen as an attractive place to work and live,” says Rector Prof. Dr. Stefanie Reese.

As befits the university motto of “Shaping a Humane Future,” the film takes viewers on a tour of the university's high-profile fields, while also putting the camera squarely on teacher training and knowledge transfer: It also gives a view of its labs, offices, lecture halls, and libraries. The camera accompanies researchers through their daily work, often on the bleeding edge of their respective fields. Breathtaking drone footage captures the University of Siegen's ultra-modern infrastructure in the immediate vicinity of gorgeous nature.

The new promotional film is focused on research and cooperation partners in Germany and beyond, as well as (potential) employees in research and instruction. Students will also hopefully identify with the video.
