Additional support for blind and hearing or visually impaired students

The library at the University of Siegen has a workstation for the blind that is specially designed to meet the needs of blind and visually impaired students. In addition, hearing-impaired students can use borrowable FM receivers and mobile induction loops to make attending events and lectures easier.

Parking for severely disabled students

Students with limited mobility can get a disabled parking space on campus by asking the disability officer. It is also possible to apply for a refund of the semester ticket fee from the AStA Social Department.

Support for the severely disabled students in the Mensa

The Studierendenwerk Siegen offers support for blind, visually impaired and wheelchair users when eating in the Mensa. Call the kitchen management and request assistance - a member of staff will help with the menu, picking up the food and returning the dishes.

Flexi

Flexible childcare (Flexi) is a collaborative project of the university and the Studierendenwerk, offers hourly childcare by educational professionals - perfect if you need flexible support. There are nine places that can be booked online and three emergency places that can be reserved by telephone.

Day nursery

The toodler room ("Krabbelstube") is a self-designed room for childcare from and for student parents. It is free of charge if you take care of of your children yourself, and opening hours are very flexible - possible during the semester, semester breaks or at weekends
